About the Competition
The International Spelling Bee 2025 celebrates linguistic excellence and confidence in youth. Participants will go through a Written Preliminary Round followed by a Live Stage Round with qualified judges from English and education backgrounds.
Official Rules
1. Competition Format
Preliminary Round: Online test, 15 Jan 2026.
Grand Final: Live oral spelling via Zoom/Meet, 17 Jan 2026.
2. Eligibility
Ages 9–12 from ASEAN countries.
Must register by deadline with real name.
Need internet, mic, and camera for Grand Final.
3. Preliminary Round
Spell words from audio.
No help allowed (no dictionary/apps).
Time-limited.
Top scorers advance.
4. Grand Final
Join 15 mins early, cameras on.
Ask for repeat, definition, sentence, or origin.
Spell clearly, say “Final answer”.
Wrong spelling = elimination.
Last participant is Champion.
5. Scoring
Written scores determine finalists.
Final round accuracy decides winners.
Judges’ decisions final.
6. Fairness
No cheating or external help.
Respect all participants and judges.
Maintain honesty.
